Con lunedì 1 aprile sono aperte ufficialmente le iscrizioni alla 16a Dolomites Sky Race e al Dolomites Vertical Kilometer in programma in Val di Fassa dal 19 al 21 luglio 2013.

Every two years the European Skyrunning Championships are celebrated and 2013 is no exception. The big news is the inclusion for the first time of the ultra distance. The venue is all-Italian with the Vertical Kilometer® and SkyRace® in Canazei, Dolomites on July 19 and 21, while the Ultra will take place just six days later in the nearby Veneto Region.
Gli European Skyrunning Championships si disputano ogni due anni e il 2013 non fa eccezione. La grande novità riguarda l’inserimento in calendario, per la prima volta, delle ultra distanze. Le sedi sono tutte italiane con il Vertical Kilometer® e la SkyRace® a Canazei, nelle Dolomiti, il 19 e 21 luglio mentre l’Ultra avrà luogo sei giorni dopo a Piovene Rocchette, in Veneto.
La quindicesima è stata un'edizione da record grazie ad una partecipazione massiccia, con più di 1100 partecipanti tra Verticale, Mini e SkyRace. Il livello tecnico qualitativamente eccelso ha inoltre permesso anche di polverizzare i precedenti record sia al maschile che al femminile nella Dolomites SkyRace della domenica, entrambi “limati” di oltre quattro minuti.
On July 15 the Dolomites Skyrace Organizing Committee has decided to close the entries of both the Vertical Kilometer and the Dolomites Skyrace as the maximum number of athletes admitted has been reached.
Up to today 720 are the entries to the Dolomites skyrace and 200 to the Vertical Kilometer.
Only in case of vacant numbers the Organizing Committee will decide to eventually admit other runners only by the race office in Canazei.
Altro importante passaggio televisivo per la 15ª Dolomites SkyRace, andata in scena lo scorso luglio a Canazei, in Val di Fassa. Venerdì 21 settembre alle ore 13.40 è infatti previsto un servizio con un taglio sportivo turistico, all'interno della rubrica «Sì, viaggiare» del Tg2 (Rai2) condotto da Silvia Vaccarezza.
Il re è nuovamente lui, Kílian Jornet. Il fortissimo scialpinista e skyrunner catalano ha fatto propria l’edizione numero 15 della Dolomtes SkyRace, battendo il record che deteneva dal 2007 Mitja Kosovelj, terzo al traguardo alle spalle del romeno Ionut Zinca. In campo femminile vittoria e primato per la svedese Emelie Forsberg, davanti a Kasie Enman e Mireia Mirò. Record anche in fatto di adesioni, con ben 758 iscritti.
La vigilia della 15ª Dolomites SkyRace 2012 il Comitato Organizzatore dell'evento ha festeggiato tutti i protagonisti delle 14 passate edizioni, consegnando loro un pettorale speciale indossato il giorno della gara. Con l'occasione è stato proiettato un video che ha fatto rivivere le fasi salienti di tutte le edizioni finora disputate.
Una sorpresa e una conferma nel Dolomites Vertical Kilometer®. La conferma è trentina, visto che a trionfare è stata la fiemmese Antonella Confortola con il tempo di 40'08”, la sorpresa è invece rappresentata dallo sloveno Nejc Kuhar che ha fermato il cronometro sul tempo di 33'33”.
It officially started the countdown for the fifteenth edition of the Dolomites SkyRace of Sunday, July 22 and the Vertical Kilometer of Friday, July 20, 2012, valid for both racing circuit Gazette of ISF.
From Wednesday, May 2, 2012 are in fact possible to apply to the two competitions. The methods are identical to those of last year, or need to download the forms from the registration section of our website and fill in all their parts, making the organization received no later than Wednesday, July 18, 2012.
The official and definite dates in 2012 of two among the most prestigious Italian Skyrunning races have been fixed. The Vertical Kilometer is scheduled on Friday 20 July while the Dolomites Skyrace, reached its 15^ edition will take place on the following Sunday 22 July.
This time has been really tough! It is since 2008 that we cannot lead you up to the Piz Boè and we are really disappointed for this. But last Sunday we succeeded, working all together, to write a special page on the history of the Dolomites Skyrace. The days before the race we had prepared three different racetracks, but they were not enough as the snow and the ice on the track forced us to create another alternative course at lower altitudes. All the volunteers placed along the track had to leave their positions as quickly as possible and to replace themselves in totally different places: they were really wonderful just like all the athletes who decided to run their race. You all were simply great: a special thanks from the Organizing Committee!
The red and the yellow of the Spanish flag are the colours dominating the 14th edition. From Spain, in fact, are four runners among the first six ones and the first two women ranked in the final classifications of this third leg of the World Series that took place in Val di Fassa. The Castilian athlete Luis Alberto Hernando Alzaga climbed onto the highest step of the podium, followed by the Aragonese Miguel Caballero Ortega and the Italian Michele Tavernaro, in the third position. Mireia Mirò, from Catalunia, led the race almost from the start and ranked first, followed closely by Ohiana Kortazar from Euskadi and the American Brandy Erholtz.
