PRESENTATION TRENTINO SKYGAMES® 2008
 

The event

The TRENTINO SkyGames® 2008.
This unique, spectacular event will take place in the autonomous Trentino Region in the Italian Dolomites on July 18, 19 and 20. Three-days of vertical thrills concentrate running, cycling and speed climbing at altitude all in one spectacular mountain location.

The races

VERTICAL KILOMETER® 1.000m vertical climb - 3,5km uphill running with a 30% incline
SKYBIKE® 16 km duathlon combining MTB and skyrunning
SKYSPEED® 100m vertical climb – an uphill race with a 45% incline
SKYRACE® 22 km skyrunning race with over 2,000m vertical climb

The athletes

More than twenty-five nations aspire to winning the world titles. 500 of the world’s strongest mountain runners and adventure specialists will face not only fierce competition, but gruelling terrain in a unique environment where the rewards come from almost touching the sky.

Location

The Italian Dolomites need no introduction. An exclusive, world-famed resort for climbers, trekkers and skiers, this natural arena is an ideal venue for this extraordinary one-off event. The locations include: Canazei, Pordoi Pass, Fedaia Pass and the Piz Boè and Marmolada mountains.

The organisers

The event is sanctioned and organized by the international Federation for Sport at Altitude together with the Dolomites SkyRace Committee.
The international Federation for Sport at Altitude (FSA) promotes and manages a worldwide circuit of over 60 high altitude races counting 20,000 participants. The races, subject to the FSA rules and parameters guarantee a series of prestigious, quality events.
The local organization is in the competent hands of the Dolimtes SkyRace Committee which has been organizing the SkyRace for the past nine years together with a number of important outdoor sports events in the area.
